Hello HAWPC Summer Athletes and Families,

We hope everyone is having a fantastic summer and enjoying the beautiful weather! We wanted to share a few updates as we head into August.

Following last week's cancellation, we have spoken with the City and are pleased to announce that our summer season will be extended to Sunday, August 23, 2026, to make up for the missed session.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Just a reminder that practice will be held as scheduled on Sunday, August 2, over the August Long Weekend.

Please note that the T-Ball World Series is also taking place that weekend, which will significantly increase traffic and parking demands in the area.

Parking on Jerseyville Road is prohibited.

Parking at the pool will likely be limited.

Parking at the Little League Park will not be available.

If the pool parking lot is full, we recommend parking at either:

Ancaster High Secondary School, or Morgan Firestone Arena,

With so many young athletes and families in the area, please allow yourself some extra travel time and use extra caution when driving and walking through the parking areas.

Our summer programs have been a tremendous success, and we hope to see many of these impressive young athletes continue with us this fall!

We are currently waiting for final confirmation from Water Polo Canada and the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre before finalizing pricing and schedules for our 16U, 18U, and Senior programs.

Registration is expected to open in mid-August, and program information is already available on our website

If weather conditions, air quality, or smoke concerns require us to cancel a session, updates will be posted through all of the following channels:

Let the insanity begin as we head into the final—and busiest—part of the season!

The City of Hamilton has advised that Pinky Lewis is not available Saturday, so Thursday will be our last session there this week.

NO PRACTICE in Brantford on Monday, March 30th due to maintenance (lighting replacement in the deep end for Provincials).

April 1st: 14U, 16U, and 18U Girls will report to MAC for a scrimmage from 8:00–9:30 PM.

Please review the schedule carefully for this weekend.

We have several new athletes participating in their first tournament—please make them feel welcome!

New athletes and parents: note that multiple age groups are playing. Each group is color-coded on the far right of the schedule.

12U Athletes: Please be on deck 30 minutes before your game, fully ready.

Swim & Play Ball / Splashball – Provincials Option

The current Swim and Play Ball Splashball season concludes this Thursday.

For Provincials (May 8–10 in Brantford at Gretzky).

If your athlete would like to continue for an additional 6 weeks and participate:

Cost: $250 (includes Provincial Tournament Fee)

Occasional Sunday (Brantford): 3:30–5:00 PM

Athletes will also have the opportunity to try Hammerhead Swims, which is a great introduction to competitive-style training.

This weekend we will have athletes representing Hamilton at 12U, 14U, 16U and Senior.  Let's work hard have fun, and support our teamates.

Pre Provincial Update

Practice & Program Update – March Break Schedule

Please be advised that there is no practice today, March 15th, in Brantford.

In addition, all City Pool practices are cancelled over March Break. This mainly affects Swim and Play Ball and Splashball, as these groups will not be in the water during the March Break week.

The final week for Swim and Play Ball and Splashball will take place the week after March Break.

We will also have Bring-a-Friend Days on:

12U, 14U, 16U, 18U – March Break Schedule

Monday, March 16 - 8:00-9:30 PM – Optional practice, open to all competitive athletes

Wednesday, March 18 - 8:00-9:30 PM  – Optional practice, open to all competitive athletes

Thursday, March 19 – NCL and Senior athletes only

NOTE MCMASTER IS OPEN AND FOLLOWING REGULAR SCHEDULE

Saturday, March 21 | 4:00–7:00 PM – Open to all athletes

We will return to the full regular schedule on March 22.

Update on Club Events Happening over March Break

MARCH BREAK UPDATE

Please be advised that we will be operating as usual on Saturday and Sunday, February 14–15.

There will be no practice on Monday, February 16.

14U and 16U girls are welcome to attend practice on Wednesday, February 18 from 8:00–9:30 PM in Brantford.

Saturday Morning Practice – Pinky Lewis

Please also note that due to swim meets, there will be no Brantford practices on the weekends of February 21–22 and February 28–March 1.

We will be offering an optional swim for competitive athletes on Saturday mornings from 8:15–9:45 AM at Pinky Lewis on February 21 and February 28.

Further details regarding the Scarborough Tournament weekend schedule can be found in the link below. This tournament is for 12U, 14U, and 18U Girls.

Busy weekend no practices Monday but business as usual on the weekend.

Hello Swim & Play Ball, Splashball, 10U, and 12U players and parents,

Welcome to the Winter Session, which begins this week! We apologize in advance for any scheduling challenges. As we move through the winter months, weather conditions and facility availability can create changes, and we appreciate your flexibility.

❌ NO PRACTICE Tuesday, January 6 (we will add an additional Tuesday at the end of the session)

Saturday, January 10 – Jimmy Thompson Pool

Thursday, January 15 – Pinky Lewis Pool

Saturday, January 17 – Jimmy Thompson Pool

After Week 2, Weeks 3, 4, 5, and 6 (Jan 24,31 Feb 7,14th) Saturday session will all take place at Pinky Lewis Pool with the following timings:

Additional details will be shared closer to those dates.  Google Calendar is updated for the season.

Now that the schedule confusion is hopefully clear.  We encourage athletes to bring Swim suit towel, goggles and a water bottle to practice.  We do a short 5 minute break midway through the training session. 

I will send out a reminder again tomorrow about the cancelation on the 6th at Brewster.
